The McLaren GT was McLaren’s first dedicated grand tourer, based on the same platform that underpinned the 720S – but with significantly more storage space and a carbon fibre rear deck. 

The GT features a new variation of the 3,994 cc twin-turbocharged M840T V8 engine found in the 720S.  The rated power output is 612hp and the suspension system is derived from the 720S, utilizing double wishbones and a modified version of the ProActive Chassis Control II active damping system called Proactive Damping Control.
